You will find on the vital pages a partial index of marriages, deaths, obituaries published in the newspapers.  There are web pages included on them that will give you an index for the county level records to comparing the newspapers.  Of course, the newspaper does not have notices or articles about all events and many were missed in the indexing process.  Links for the years available are listed below.
